Returning to my roots here with real media. The local humane society is having an art auction fund raiser, so I thought I'd pitch in. Might do a sculpture and a painting as well. Came out more grainy-looking than I expected. Guess I got spoiled on digital.

I wanted to try to get back into speed painting again, but this was kind of pushing the definition of "quick" at 1 hour. It seems I'll need to do more so I can get back to 10 and 20 minute exercises. This little dino was inspired by a white pelican.

The character, Ronicus, described by Sudan Red in the Trading Post. He's a farmer, so I thought locusts would be pretty dramatic, and seeing as all the minotaurs I've read about are fighters, I'll wager farming is a tough career for them since it puts you at the mercy of the weather/environment (which is something that can't really be fought).

So I decided I was going to be a bison minotaur for Halloween, but only when I finished the costume did I realize I had made a "fur suit." Hmm. Well, guess I have something to wear if I ever decide to go to a con. Eyelids flutter, mouth opens/chews, and ears wiggle all from inside. Limited vision out the nose.
